NYCOM and Malawi Police Services Join Forces
National Youth Council of Malawi on 17th February 2021 had a joint strategic meeting with the Malawi Police Services held at the National Police Head Quarters in Lilongwe, in an effort to enhance active youth participation in issues of safety, crime prevention and crime management through inclusive and youth friendly policing in the country.
In line with the council’s mandate of coordination and collaboration with strategic partners, the Council and the police will work together among other things to: curb trafficking of persons, protection of persons with albinism, mob justice, GBV including defilement and rape.
Dingiswayo Jere, NYCOM CEO led the delegation, while Aubrey Nyirenda, Deputy commissioner of police responsible for community and rural policing led the police team.
Also present at the meeting were youth leaders from Rumphi, Karonga, Mchinji and Mzuzu.
