Announcing Youth Constituency Representatives in The Malawi Partnership Forum
The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) is pleased to inform its affiliates, youth leaders, development partners and stakeholders that following a request from the National AIDS Commission (NAC), NYCOM has nominated Ms. Christie Banda and Mr. Dalisto Magelegele as Youth Constituency Representatives in the Malawi HIV and AIDS Partnership Forum (MPF).
MPF is an advisory body to the National AIDS Commission Board of Commissioners, comprising of high profile decision makers drawn from all the key HIV and AIDS sectors and constituencies. It plays a critical role in planning and reviewing the national response to HIV and AIDS in the country.
Briefly, Christie Banda, aged 28, is currently working as the Executive Director of the Foundation for Civic Education and Social Empowerment (FOCESE) in Balaka District. Before joining FOCESE, she worked as a Programme Manager with Bangula Support Organization (BASO) in Nsanje District; Investigations Officer with the Office of the Ombudsman; and as a Volunteer with International Citizen Service (ICS) – Latitude Volunteering.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Chancellor College and currently pursuing Master of Science in Management Studies at Malawi Institute of Management (MIM).
Dalitso Magelegele, aged 29, is currently working as a Youth and Governance Officer with Youth and Society (YAS) in Mzuzu. Before joining Youth and Society, he served in different capacities with different organisations as follows; Project Officer with World Vision International; Programme Coordinator with Center for Governance and Public Participation (CeGPP), Program Coordinator with Eye for Development (EFD); Teacher at Chipasula Secondary School; Programme and Advocacy Officer (Volunteer) with Eye for Development (EFD); Deputy National Coordinator for the Youth Consultative Forum (YCF); and as University of Malawi Students Union (UMSU) Student Representative to the University of Malawi Council and Director of Academic Affairs.
He holds a Bachelor of Education Social Studies (with Credit) from Chancellor College.
The National Youth Council of Malawi greatly appreciates the decision by the National AIDS Commission to sustain youth representation in the Malawi HIV and AIDS Partnership Forum.
